James H. "Jimmy" Wilson
Began playing horns at the age of six. Jimmy studied privately under the late A. Jack Thomas (Bandmaster), as well as guidance from his grandfather, James H. Wilson, Sr (who founded the Music Dept. at Alabama A. & M.), a renowned trumpet virtuoso and bandmaster in his own right.

Attended the preparatory department of the Peabody Conservatory of music.
